25 years as Founding Artistic Director of Hollywood’s The Blank Theatre. Created and led over 750 projects including producing 63 plays and musicals in Mainstage Productions, directing 31 productions, developing over 600 new plays including 284 by teenaged writers, and receiving 191 awards and nominations for these productions. A proven ability to develop and actualize vision in harmonious collaboration with world-class artists from Tony Award winners to Academy Award winners as well as young emerging talent.

THE BLANK THEATRE               1990 – present

Founding Artistic Director of Hollywood’s The Blank Theatre since 1990.

Envisioned, created, realized and supervised all major institutional programs and artistic productions since its inception. Responsible for the totality of the company and all staff, budgets and vision. Responsible for approximately 50 different creative projects annually and all business affairs of the company including fiscal management and fundraising.

President of the Board of Directors. Responsibilities include:  Board Development, Financial Oversight, Preparation of Annual Budget, Engaging Board Members, Strategic Planning, Leading teams of professionals in the shaping of long-term goals in a collaborative setting.

Ongoing programs include:


Led over 60 creative teams of productions on the Main Stage as “Collaborator-in-Chief.” Chose material, developed material, assembled artistic staff, hired actors, produced the work, often served as Publicist, shepherded entire artistic process to award-winning results.


The only nationwide competition that produces the work of playwrights 19 years of age and younger. In 23 years, dramaturged, mentored and produced 272 plays by teenagers. These writers have gone on to become Pulitzer Prize finalists and NY Drama Critics Circle Award winners among other honors.


Envisioned, created, realized and supervise a flagship Apprenticeship program. Each summer students from all over the world are given invaluable hands-on immersion training in theatre and are an integral part of the production team for the Young Playwrights Festival. The program is free of charge.

                    Founder and Chairman                  2013 - Present

Initiative to create the assured future of live theatre in Hollywood and all of Los Angeles. Successes include singlehandedly engaging City of LA and Council offices along with community leaders to create the official designation of “Hollywood Theatre Row,” with City ceremonial signage and resolutions passed to declare a “live theatre district” in Hollywood. Created strong partnerships with two City Council offices (CD 4 & 13), Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, VICA, Hollywood Arts Council, Media District BID, Neighborhood Councils, Hollywood Heritage, Nederlander/Pantages Theatre among others.

ACTORS FUND OF AMERICA Western Regional Councilor 2008 - Present
Duties include serving on Marketing/Outreach Committee, creating new ideas and initiatives to further the brand of the Actors Fund, consulting on issues of outreach to local entertainment community acting as liaison to government communities and helping bring social media presence to this 130 year old organization.

HOLLYWOOD ARTS COUNCIL           Vice President                                   2009 - 2015

Duties included co-hosting Charlie Awards (with George Pennacchio) charged to articulate the vision of the organization and excite potential donors and supporters in the mission. Served on the Executive Committee creating new policies and procedures, hiring Executive Director, guiding 30 year President in her transition to President Emeritus, creating many new initiatives and acting as “non-profit guru” on matters of corporate behavior and fiduciary responsibility to Board and staff.


25 years experience as an artist separate from duties as The Blank’s Founding Artistic Director: Director, Writer, Creator, Dramaturge, Choreographer and Designer. NAACP, L.A. Weekly, Ovation, BackStage Garland, DramaLogue Awards and nominations for artistic work.


Includes Lyricist & Librettist for MTV Mini Musical, Film Producer (3D, shorts and documentaries), Story Analyst for TV production company, commercial Casting Director and Producer of daily Profit & Loss Report for the Securities Division of Chase Manhattan Bank.
